2022 Update
Hello! My goodness, some of you must think that I fell off the face of the earth since my last post was back in January! Let me give you a quick update.
Over the past year, I’ve been working on three different manuscripts (two nonfiction, one fiction). In August, I had one of the best experiences of my life at the We Need Diverse Books Native Writing Retreat at the Writing Barn in Austin, TX (thank you all, too numerous to name here, but I am grateful for every one of you and so honored to call you friends). In conjunction with Jerel Ezell and the wonderful people from the Center for Cultural Humility at Cornell University, I helped put together Oñgwaga·ä' (“Our Story”), a weekly writer workshop for Native Americans, which ran from September through October. I must shout out the workshop instructors: Joanie Mackowski; Bwesigye Bwa Mwesigire; Ernesto Quiñonez; Helena Viramontes; Yessica Martinez; Eman Ghanayem; Michael McGrandy; and Sarah Grossman. Thank you for making the workshop not only an incredible learning experience, but truly special!
There are a couple other things which I’m not ready to share yet, but I’ll keep you posted. To those celebrating, I hope you enjoy a safe & happy holiday season. To those not celebrating, I wish you a safe & happy winter season. As always, I’ll try to do better at keeping you posted. You can also follow me on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook at @mcroninwrites.
